Toyota Motor Co. said it's recalling approximately 185,000 vehicles globally due to a glitch in the electric power steering system.

Short circuits have been known to happen in the vehicles and are usually caused by water droplets forming on certain wires in the power steering control module. Due to this issue, the power steering assist could stall, making steering "heavier" Toyota said in a press statement.

The recall includes Yaris models, known as the Vitz in Japan, made between November 2010 through March 2012 according to Reuters.

Toyota is also recalling the Verso-S, known as the Lactis in Japan, were produced from August 2010 through August 2011.

The recall includes 130,000 vehicles in Japan, 7,050 vehicles in Germany, and 7,000 vehicles in France. The rest of the vehicles were sold in other locations around the world.

No accidents or deaths have been reported due to the glitch according to Toyota spokeswoman Shiori Hashimoto.

Toyota will replace the power steering control module, free of charge according to Hashimoto. The repair work will take one to two hours.

Hashimoto declined to comment on how much the recall will cost Toyota.
