2013 Comic-Con Update: 2013 Hyundai Veloster Zombie Survival Machine Features Chainsaws, Flamethrower, Machete Holders

The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Zombie Survival machine will debut at Comic-Con International in San Diego on July 17.

The vehicle will come equipped with machete holders, front bumper-mounted chainsaws and flamethrowers according to Edmunds.

The Veloster Survival machine includes a roof-mounted rail gun that "shoots projectiles with an electromagnet and sandbags mounted on the hood" according to the report. The vehicle's headlights are safe from attack thanks to wrought-iron cages.

"It was so successful because the world is in love with zombies," said Miles Johnson, a Hyundai spokesman, in a phone conversation with Edmunds.

This is the second Hyundai zombie machine released by Hyundai. The 2012 Elantra Zombie Survival machine was a popular attraction at almost every event it was displayed at that year.

Official photos have yet to be released as of press time.

The vehicle is still be developed by Galpin Auto Sports according to Hyundai. Robert Kirkman, writer and the creator of the show "The Walking Dead," will be on hand during the development of the Veloster.

A unique app that allows people to design their own custom digital zombie survival vehicle was also announced this week.

The submitted designed will be entered into a contest and the winning one will be constructed and unveiled at the New York Comic-Con this October.

The Zombie machine will be on display at the Future US booth at Comic-Con next month according to Hyundai.
