iOS 7 Untethered Jailbreak Not Expected Until the Fall, Sites iPhone 5 Users Should Avoid Until Then (VIDEO)

It's been a few months since the iOS 6.1.3 came out and still no one has been able to create a successful jailbreak to free Apple's best-selling smartphone the iPhone 5.

After a five month wait, the jailbreak team know as the Evad3rs created a successful program to free all iPhone 5 devices, which allowed users to do whatever they want with their phones.

Over 20 million users downloaded the jailbreak called EvasiOn, and for six weeks their site was easily one of the most visited web pages on the internet.

There reign at the top didn't last long however, as Apple countered with iOS 6.1.3. The new operating system blocked anyone from bypassing an iPhone lockscreen using its emergency call function, allowing the user to make a call or gaining partial access to the phone's private data according to Forbes.

Scam sites have been appearing online since then however which users should avoid at all costs. Sites that have been known to publish fake jailbreak links include:

-Sunnews.com

-SafeRa1n.com

-Websites with the words "blogspot," "pressdoc" or "wordpress"

After successfully releasing a jailbreak for devices running on iOS 6 or higher, the Evad3rs announced back in April that they wouldn't attempt a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 according to the International Business Times.

The team felt that the OS wasn't worthy of the time and effort it takes to create a jailbreak, and instead would wait for the next big release.

Apple officially announced iOS 7 just a few weeks ago, and most experts believe the OS was designed for either the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 6 if Apple decides to skip the 5S.

Even though iOS 7 was officially revealed, one of the Evasi0n developers was reportedly so disappointed with it he's considering switching to Android.

"I must admit that I am about to switch to an Android device. IMHO, this version of iOS is the worst move Apple did in a long time," said Pod2g this week on Twitter. "iOS 7 design is awful, it's slow, battery life time is the worst ever, it's full of UI bugs and crashes. OK it's beta 1, but still."

Apple revealed iOS 7 at the WWDC event in California earlier this month.

Time will tell if the jailbreak team known as the Evad3rs do release a successful jailbreak for Apple's newest operating system, but millions of users around the world will be disappointed if they don't at least try.
