UFO Britain: Files Released Include Abductions, Alien Sightings, But No Evidence (VIDEO)

Britain's Ministry of Defense officially released a 4,300-page report detailing almost 60 years' worth of UFO sightings this week, but one critical piece was left out: proof.

Thanks to devices like smartphones, the UFO desk received approximately 600 reports in 2009 alone, triple the amount they received in 2008 according to a statement released by the organization regarding National Archives.

The department didn't have enough resources to investigate them all and were forced to shut down because of it.

"That really did put a strain on the resources that the MoD had committed to this subject, and really led up to their decision to finally pull the plug on Britain's X-Files, simply because they just didn't have the resources to investigate these sightings, or to look at them in any detail," said David Clarke, UFO historian to NBC News. "So they just tended to be filed away."

The report is worth taking a look at however as it features a number of interesting sightings and stories like:

-an encounter involving a UFO and a police helicopter over Birmingham which was never investigated

-a woman who claimed that she was living with an alien in Carlisle

-a man who claimed his dog was abducted by aliens while camping

Several other stories and unclear photographs can be found in the report including what appears to be a UFO flying over Stonehenge. The department was not able confirm that the object was or wasn't a UFO however before shutting down.
