2014 Acura MDX Priced at $43,185, Two-Wheel Drive Model Less Expensive Than 2013 BMW X5

The base 2014 Acura MDX, the first two-wheel option of the crossover, will be sold for approximately $43,185, including an $895 destination charge.

The Acura MDX SH-AWD will be sold for a base price of $494,185 including shipping according to Acura.

The base MDX with two-wheel drive is less expensive than one of its top competitors, the 2013 Buick Enclave according to Edmunds.

Buick sells its Enclave with front-wheel drive for $43,355, including a $895 destination fee.

The new vehicle is also less expensive than another rival, the 2013 BMW X5. The X5 sells for $48,425, including a $925 destination fee.

The optional Entertainment package for the MDX SH-AWD brings the price up to $57,400, including shipping.

The difference in price between the base MDX with two-wheel drive and the 2013 MDX with all-wheel-drive is approximately $990 according to Edmunds.

The 2014 Acura MDX two-wheel-drive version achieves 20 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on the highway according to Acura. The 2014 Acura MDX with all-wheel drive meanwhile returns 18 mpg in city driving and 27 mpg on the highway.

In comparison, the 2013 Acura MDX achieves16 mpg in city driving and 21 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA.

The 2014 Acura MDX is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower, 10 hp less than the current model.

The new vehicle will go on sale this July according to Acura.
