Chief Keef 110 MPH: Rapper Caught Speeding in 55 MPH Zone, Taken Away in Handcuffs (VIDEO)

Teen rapper Chief Keef was arrested on May 27 after police caught him driving 110 mph in a 55 zone while only having a learner's permit according to MSNBC.com.

Keef was driving a black BMW on the Edens Expy. in Chicago when he was pulled over. The incident occurred just a week after Keef was arrested for possession of marijuana.

The rapper was arrested, searched, and charged with a class A misdemeanor for speeding and driving with an unlawful number of passengers for a graduated driver according to Dave Druker, a spokesman for the Secretary of State's office.

"I'm guessing he was cooperative, otherwise he would have been charged with something additional," Northfield Police Chief William Lustig said on May 28 according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, 17, was taken to the Northfield police station where he posted a $200 bond and was released about 5:10 a.m., Lustig said.

The rapper was stopped going northbound on the expressway and claimed he was heading home with three passengers.

Under Illinois' graduated driver program, 17-year-old drivers are allowed to have one passenger under 20 in the vehicle that is not related to the driver or a child.

Police confirmed that he'll appear before a judge on June 17 according to MSNBC.com. He's previously served time for a gun charge and violating his parole for handling a firearm.
