Why Is 2018 Volkswagen Atlas Considered A Top Contender In Its Class?

Yes, the SUV market is getting more and more overcrowded by the minute almost literally. Well, this is the most famous and top selling class the world over so this is expected. However, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas remains comfortably sitting on top amidst the already crowded segment.

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas means business! Varying reviews prove that this SUV is bent on knocking down its competition and feeding them dust so to speak. While other "more famous" SUVs rake in a good number of sales because of popularity and extravagant marketing, the Atlas remains calm for being at the top even without much of the hype.

For one, according to US News and World Report, the 2018 Atlas is Number 1 in midsize SUVs, Number 1 in SUVs with three rows, and Number 2 in Crossover SUVs. It also has an almost perfect overall score for having 8.7 points out of possible 10. It received the highest score of 8.9 points in its Interior. It also received 8.7 and 8.1 points for its Critic' Rating and Performance, respectively.

It is exceptional for having a lot of space for family, friends, and cargo. It boasts of significantly wider seats compared to its competitors. This is a big SUV but that does not present any major issues at all as it handles like a smaller vehicle. Its all-wheel drive also provides much-needed support and assistance in extreme weather conditions.

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas comes with standard features such as voice recognition, panoramic sunroof, smartphone integration among many others. It is available in two engines. It has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which is capable of producing 238-horsepower as standard. There is also the more powerful 3.6-liter VR6 with an output of 280-horsepower as an upgrade.

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas definitely needs to be taken seriously. It boasts of features that easily rival its more popular competitors. In this case, a popular brand name is not too important. What matters most is what it can bring on the road and what it can provide its passengers that the Atlas has aced.
