The 2020 BMW M8 has recently been spied. This is great news as that's a sign for its fruition. BMW rolled out a prototype of the M8 last month at the 2017 M Festival at the Nurburgring. This event also had its confirmation as it is being developed for the 2018 seasons of the United SportsCar Championship and World Endurance Championship.
Recently, photos of the prototype have been circulating around. The 2020 BMW M8 does look like the earlier released prototypes with only a few differences. First off, the laser headlights are now exposed. Under the headlights appear to have much larger intakes.
Opening on the flanks hints vertical vent on the trailing edge of the front fenders. The rear does sport M division's signature quad-pipe arrangement for its exhaust. Photos showing the M8 next to an M3 reveal how much wider it is compared to the smaller counterpart.
Not much information is available for the M8's specs, however, it is reported to ride on a version of the CLAR modular platform which debuted last year in the 7-Series.
The BMW M8 is also reported to come in three different models — a coupe, convertible and gran coupe. The M8 Coupe may make its debut first out of the three in 2019. It will soon be followed by the convertible and finally the gran coupe a year later, according to a report of fellow Ileen Jasmine.
The 2020 BMW M8 is known to be BMW's fastest production vehicle upon release. However, the slow development prevented the car from making an entry in the newest car racing video game, Need For Speed Payback.
Instead of the BMW M8, the developer decided to use the M5 instead. Well, such video game is influential. All cars that make it as part of the game are known to be the best of the best. The video game and 2020 BMW M8's connection goes more than just a game, but reputation for being the best both virtually and realistically.
