The new Peugeot 308 gets upgraded engine variants and more advanced technology features. The new model boasts of its better safety features, as well as some minor design tweaks.
The new Peugeot 308 claims to be one of the safest vehicles in the series. The new model now comes more equipped with driving assistance features for security and better confidence.

The new model is packed with additional features like the speed limit recognition and adaptive cruise control. The new 308 is now more intelligent with the inclusion of the active blind-spot monitoring. It is also packed with City Park that provides automatic park assistance.
Under the hood, the new 308 comes with Euro 6 emissions-regulated petrol and diesel engines. One option is the 1.2-liter three-cylinder Puretech petrol engine that can deliver 96kW.
There is also the 2.0-liter BlueHDi diesel, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, that can produce 132kW. This is the first time it will come with an automatic transmission.
The third engine option is the 1.5-liter BlueHDi 130 diesel, which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, that can produce 96kW. It also utilizes similar piston geometry with that of the diesel 908 HDi FAP that has previously won a Le Mans award in 2009.
On the outside, the new model has been facelifted a bit. The front end looks sharper now while the interior gained more extravagant materials.
On the cockpit, the infotainment system now comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features. Tech savvy will be delighted to know they can now connect with their cars with more options.
The new 9.7-inch touchscreen display also contains control functions for connected satellite navigation and dual-zone climate control. It also features MirrorLink smartphone mirroring.
The new Peugeot 308 comes with a $21,300 (£16,535) price tag. The first batch of the new models will hit the European showrooms by September. Meanwhile, the brand has not confirmed the release date and specifications for Australia.
