The new Hyundai Kona has been teased recently through various official teaser videos. The new SUV looks aggressively muscular as shown in the latest cryptic video.
Hyundai has been posting teaser videos for the new Kona. Two Hawaiian-themed teaser videos and a cryptic video showcasing the new model have been posted recently.
A teaser video titled "KONA" features the gorgeous Hawaii beach, a surfer under a huge wave, waterfalls, Hawaiian dancer and other beach sceneries. It did not reveal any details for the new SUV except for its name.
Another video also shows a Hawaiian theme titled "Aloha! Kona!" where the beautiful island and waves of the ocean were highlighted. The video did not also show any part of the new car except for its name.
However, the latest video titled "SUV KONA" finally gives hints on the upcoming SUV. In the video, the new SUV appears from a dark scene, where little portions were being revealed in a flash. The whole look of the new Kona was not revealed as the clip only shows the upper portion and some aspects have been outlined with a lighting effect.
The muscular form of the new SUV has been revealed through a lighting effect forming the outline of the body. The wheel arches have been teased to look very aggressive too.
The clip further revealed that the new model has a black roof while the rest of the body seems to be in red, or the bottom may have a different hue as it was not clearly shown. The teaser also flashed a lighted narrow taillights.
Meanwhile, other reports say that the upcoming Hyundai Kona will have twin headlamps with LED daytime running lights above the LED headlights. The new SUV will sport a similar cascading grille present in the new models of the brand.
Hyundai has not revealed the details under the hood. However, the automaker has already mentioned that the new model will be offered with an all-wheel drive variant.
The new Hyundai Kona is expected to be launched this summer. It seems that the production models are ready as Hyundai Kona Forum has spotted a loader full of the new model in Korea. The new SUV is also expected to be released early next year.
