Volkswagen Arteon Will Be Offered As 206TSI R-Line Version In Australia

Details for the new Volkswagen Arteon have just been announced prior to its grand launch in October. The new coupe will be offered as top-of-the-line 206TSI R-Line Version in Australia.

Volkswagen Australia has already released the details for the upcoming Arteon. The new coupe was only launched at this year's Geneva Motor Show last March.

The announcement reveals Australian buyers can avail of the top 206TSI R-Line version of the new Arteon. The model comes with 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, which is similar to the engine of the Volkswagen Golf R and Passat 206TSI, that can deliver 206kW and 350Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch auto with the 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

Volkswagen claims the new Arteon will only take 5.6 seconds to reach 0 to 100km/h. The new coupe also comes with a lot of new features.

Among the latest features of the new coupe are the Dynamic Light Assist, Emergency Assist 2, Proactive Occupant Protection (Rear Sensing), and the Unique Active Info Display Theme. The new coupe also uses larger wheelbase for extra interior space.

Furthermore, the new Arteon features frameless side windows, 3 color ambient interior lighting, head-up display and area view. It also sports the new easy open and close tailgate, coupe design with liftback tailgate, 19-inch Montevideo alloys, row 2 heated outer seats, and unique style of R-Line seats.

The latest exciting feature of the new Arteon is the Proactive Occupant Protection System. The automaker boasts that the new system aids in minimizing the severity of rear-end collisions.

According to the automaker, the new system works by bringing out a hazard warning light, which shows the rear emergency collision alert signal, when an imminent risk is detected. Simultaneously, the system automatically closes all windows and the sliding sunroof. In addition, the system also works in parallel with the belt tensioners pulling the front safety belts taut.

The automaker did not reveal the price points at this time. The report says the price tag is yet to be announced as the launch of the new Volkswagen Arteon comes closer.
