Jaguar's one of the most awaited vehicles has been recently spotted. The 2018 Jaguar I-Pace crossover has been seen on the streets of Monaco. This gave onlookers and experts a good idea on how it is going to look like upon official release.
The 2018 Jaguar I-Pace's launch is too far from now. This is Jaguar's contribution to the ever-growing popularity of all-electric vehicles. Much has been speculated about its design as its concept was first shown to the public last year. Rumors circulated that it may come entirely different from what was presented.
Good news! From the recent spotting of a near-production prototype, it suggests staying true and loyal to the concept. Even better, this is made more credible as the upcoming I-Pace did not have any form of disguise!
The spotting in Monaco was for a promotional video to showcase its stylish design. The concept was first shown to the public at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2018 Jaguar I-Pace will be powered by a 90kWh battery pack that Jaguar hopes to last for 500km. However, realistic tests proved that it can only do the range of 354km.
The upcoming I-Pace will come in the all-wheel drive system. Its impressive output of 400-bhp and 700Nm of torque is from its two electric motors. Its acceleration may not be as fast as a Tesla, but still good enough at zero to 100kph in 4-seconds.
The sales of 2018 Jaguar I-Pace is set to commence middle of next year. It is expected to have a price tag of $100,000, which will be built by Magna Steyr in Austria. There is something to look forward to on the I-Pace as more detailed information may be made available in months to come.
The 2018 Jaguar I-Pace is worth the wait. Its all electric-capacity is more than adequate to power a vehicle of its size. It may not directly compete with Tesla in terms of speed, however, it does have other features that is enough to make Tesla a little rattled.
