2017 Jeep Compass: Aerodynamic Design Exudes Its Confident Stance

Another awaited vehicle entry is the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass. It extends the brand's global reach with its combination of attributes including the best-in-class and legendary 4x4 off-road capability along with the premium and authentic Jeep design, advanced fuel-efficient powertrains, open-air freedom, innovative safety and advanced technology and superior on-road driving dynamics.

As for the car's exterior, muscular fenders and shoulders with dramatic roofline create a stunning image. The roof is painted in Gloss Black that adds a unique and premium appearance in the segment of compact SUV. Meanwhile, the dual-pane sunroof also offers the largest opening possible that connects the Jeep drivers and passengers to an open-air freedom.

Both of this vehicle's Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4x4 systems comes with the brand's Selec-Terrain system, which offers five driving modes such as Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and the exclusive Rock mode for the Trailhawk model for a best four-wheel-drive performance whether on- or off-road in any weather state. In addition, Selec-Terrain also includes the Selec-Speed Control with a Hill-descent Control on Trailhawk models for an even greater capability on Trail Rated off-road.

There are three gasoline and two diesel engines that are offered for the 2017 Jeep Compass, which only depends on the market worldwide. In North America, the fuel-efficient 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine powers the Compass that can push up to 30mpg. FCA's 16-valve 2.4-liter Tigershark I-4 engine with the MultiAir2 electro-hydraulic also hallmarks efficiency and refinement.

This advanced technology of engine offers over 180 of horsepower with 175 lb-ft of torque. For the transmission, it can be mated with the Class-exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission for 4x4 models, Six-speed manual transmission for 4x2 and 4x4 models, and Aisin six-speed automatic transmission for 4x2 Compass models in North America.
