2018 Acura TLX: Comes With New Premium Features And Technology Enhancements

The 2018 Acura TLX is a refreshed luxury performance sedan that showcases a sporty and alluring look. It truly reflects the brand's new design phase with an all-new TLX A-Spec variant for V6 powered models and new premium features.

In the series of Acura cars, this model is the first to have a redesigned dual-screen user interface. The command and menus structures are complemented with an all-new 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. This technology comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and is 30 percent faster when it comes to response time.

AcuraWatch is just one of the standard equipment on the TLX that is advanced in safety and driver-assistive technologies. This car model is the second one in the Acura lineup that took some design cues from the Acura Precision Concept boasting an alluring new style. The diamond pentagon grille also highlights the car and amplified by its sharper sculpted hood and front fenders. All of these are paired with strong dynamic characteristics that include more of aggressiveness and sporty side sills, front and rear fascia, dual rear exhaust finishers, and rear diffuser.

The 2018 Acura TLX comes with the brand's signature 5-lamp Jewel Eye LED headlights and new alloy wheel designs that give an entirely distinctive, aggressive, and athletic character for the new TLX. Meanwhile, the TLX V6 models feature a new rear diffuser with exposed dual exhaust while its Technology Package offers new leather seats with high-contrast stitching and piping, chrome side sill garnish, and power-operated driver's seat thigh extension.

TLX is still offering two advanced powertrains. The first one is the 2.4-liter i-VTEC inline-4 that is mated to an 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission that can produce up to 206 of horsepower with a torque converter. The second one is the 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with 290 of horsepower, which has been re-tuned for 2018 for a more refined feel. Either between the 2.4-liter or 3.5-liter engines in two-wheel drive comes with Acura's Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) with an independent left and right rear-wheel toe angle control to enhance the overall handling precision, high-speed stability, and low-speed maneuverability.

Meanwhile, the 2018 Acura TLX in 2.4-liter engines can be upgraded with the Technology Package. As to the model with the 3.5-liter engine, it can be improved with either A-Spec or Advance Packages.
