A series of photos showcased the new fine form of the Fiat Argo. The supermini hatchback, designed and developed for Brazil, will likely replace the Fiat Punto.

Fiat, however, released a few details about the specifications and dimensions of its latest car. But from the photos, AutoEvolution could make out the 17-inch wheels, the red accented bumpers and a big exhaust pipe that could likely support 139 hp 1.8-liter in automatic.

On the car's front side is a matte black grill with fog lights and right below the hood are its tapered headlights. On the rear are C-tapered tail lights, a diffuser and spoiler that gives the car a sporty appeal.

The Fiat Argo could be comparable to the Ford Fiesta and Chevrolet Sonic, which are also hatchback models. Aside from the presumed 1.8-liter engine for the automatic, this model could also have 1.0- and 1.3-liter manual gearboxes fitted with Fiat's Firefly engines.

No photos of the car's interiors were released for now. Car enthusiasts, however, surmised that the Fiat Argo will have a Uconnect system for both information and entertainment, a wide colored multifunction display and three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, as per Indiana Autos Blog.

Fiat will reportedly offer three models of the Argo for its South American market — Attractive, Essence and Sporting. According to Drivespark, the vehicle got its name from the Greek mythology, "Jason and the Argonauts."

It's still unclear whether the Italian carmaker will release the same model for the European market as the company usually restricts its lineup, as per InAutoNews,  There are, however, speculations the same model could be released in the India car market.

Other news outlets report the Fiat Argo will launch in June and will likely replace the Fiat Punto. Fiat halted the latter's production in January 2017. Check out the teaser to the Fiat Argo in the video below.
