The 2018 Cadillac XTS Will Remain As A Full-Size Luxury Sedan

A lot of people thought that the Cadillac XTS would be discontinued since Cadillac wasn't paying much of attention to the car and most of their focus are on the CT6 and the CTS. However, the XTS is still present in the market and has improved its sales up to 25 percent.

This impressive step up was a big surprise, and because of that, the model won't be discontinued. The update is likely going to be the released of the 2018 Cadillac XTS that may remain on the market until the year 2020 when it is going to be replaced with a new Cadillac model.

The 2018 Cadillac XTS will likely come with a revised look, better interior and an improved engine. Meanwhile, this characteristic has been mostly taken by the CT6 but is less refined than the XTS. On the other hand, this has also been the reason on why it sold better in the past few months.

As to the exterior, the car comes with a body that follows its design scheme closely that a lot were expecting just a minimal bodywork changes to place the vehicle in line with their other models. This improved model is also expected to come with an upgrade to as much as 280 of horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque that probably gives a significant edge over some of its rivals.

This XTS is said to hit the market with a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine can provide over 335 of horsepower and over 280 lb-ft of torque. As to the turbocharged version, there might be no changes that much and is still expected to deliver a 410 of horsepower and a slightly more of torque than before.

The preceding six-speed transmission in automatic is likely going to be discontinued and an eight-speed automatic transmission comes with the base engines. Meanwhile, the turbocharged V6 engine of the 2018 Cadillac XTS  might be the first front wheel drive of GM product to utilize their new nine-speed automatic transmission. This model is expected to be released early this year and should be in the market shortly.
