The 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is the official car for the 2017 Indianapolis 500. It will lead the drivers to the green flag this coming May 28, 2017, as they celebrate its 101st legendary race. Since 1978 the Corvette has already been used as an official pace for the 14th time and also the 28th time that Chevrolet has to lead the field. 

"Chevrolet is proud to once again to pace the Indianapolis 500." According to Steve Mojoros, marketing Director of Cars and Crossovers, "The Corvette Grand Sport's performance capability and motorsports heritage make it perfect choice to pace the Greatest Spectacle." He added.

This vehicle features a unique Indy 500 Graphics for its exterior. As to the wheels, it is made with a particular wheel design wherein the front wheels are 19x10-inches while the rear wheels are 20x12-inches.

The car is powered by the LT1 direct-injected V-8 engine that is capable of producing up to 460 of horsepower which is equivalent to 343 kW that comes with a dry-sump oiling and active exhaust. 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport also comes with an eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.

This Chevy car model is equipped with a carbon-fiber ground effects package, standard magnetic ride control, standard electronic limited-slip differential, specific stabilizer, and unique springs. It also has a Z07 package with a carbon ceramic matrix brakes rotors where the front has a 285/30ZR19 while the rear has 335/ 25ZR20 that makes the wheels high in performance.

Meanwhile, the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport features a Bembo Carbon Ceramic brake system that has 15.5-inch or 394 mm rotors with six-position calipers in front and 15.3-inch rotor with four-position calipers on the rear. In addition, the Z07 package allows the Corvette to accelerate 0-60 mph in just a span of 3.6 seconds and reaches the quarter mile in just 11.8 seconds.
