The Microsoft Surface Pro tablets have already dominated the market for many years as being the best professional hybrid device. As the Surface Pro 5 prepares to be launched soon, many tech enthusiasts are expecting that the device will be compared with the Samsung Galaxy Book.

Things got interesting when Samsung revealed that its new Galaxy Book would be using Windows 10 as the operating system of its device. This fact is already a victory for the Surface Pro. It's because Microsoft already has an idea that the Galaxy Book will be using Windows 10 before releasing its new Surface Pro 5.

The Samsung Galaxy Book was recently unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last March as the main competitor for the Surface Pro 5. It posed a serious rivalry with the earlier variant of the Surface device as Samsung loaded its mobile device with LTE connection which is not present in the Surface Pro 4.

The Samsung Book will come in two different sizes, 10.6" and 12". The first version is Wi-Fi only, and customers can get on at Samsung's online store and any selected retailers such as Best Buy. The device has a starting price of $629.99 for the 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant. There's also an available 128GB eMMC version, and the device comes with a microSD slot that provides 256GB extra storage.

The 12" variant with a SIM card slot costs $1,299.99 while the Wi-Fi only is a bit cheaper for $1,129.99. This bigger hybrid is more powerful since it houses Intel's Core i5 7200 U processor. The 10.6" variant has an Intel Core m3 chipset.

Meanwhile, the Surface Pro 5 is anticipated to have Intel's latest Kaby Lake processor, an improved display, 16GB of RAM, a revamped Surface Pen stylus with wireless charging feature and lightweight aluminum body, and 512 GB of storage. This upcoming Surface Pro will still have the Surface Connect Port that is also found in the current model and the Surface Book.

Current speculations suggest that Microsoft will be launching the Surface Pro 5 this 2017 fall. But take that information with a pinch of salt as of now since Microsoft hasn't given any new updates yet about the Surface Pro 5 until now.
