The recent photos pertaining to 2018 Peugeot 308 suggest that it is almost similar to the outgoing car. However, it does have few new upgrades which considerably sets it apart from its predecessor.
The front of the facelifted 2018 Peugeot 308 still looks familiar as its headlights are the same to the current one because of the retained the LED daytime running lights. However, to break the monotony of it being like a twin of the current, a new grille has been installed. One can also see the front having different faux air intakes and square fog lamps.
Probably, the most notable feature of the upcoming 308 is something that can't be seen from its exterior. It is reported to come in with even better safety features, having advanced driver assistance systems in place. Such addition is its Active Safety Braking and Active Lane Departure Warning. It also has a state-of-the-art Visiopark 1 which automatically steers the car into a free parking space.
It also has the latest i-Cockpit system which is compatible with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All these definitely set it apart from the current one, which may make skeptics change sides.
Another important update is its 180-horsepower diesel version of 308 GT now features an eight-speed automatic transmission in collaboration with Aisin. The new gearbox is there to provide the hatch with a smoother response as compared to the current one.
The three-cylinder unit in the 130-horsepower has also received few tweaks. It is geared towards having lower emissions and considerably reduce fuel consumption. Its EPA once officially released may be one of the best, but has yet to be seen.
The 2018 Peugeot 308 will still have six trim levels which are: Active, Access, Allure, GT Line, GT, and the GTi. All of these six are getting LED light signature as standard. Official debut and market introduction have yet to be announced so better stay tuned.
