The 2019 Ford Ranger is definitely one of the best pickup trucks as it gets officially released. This upcoming Ranger is expected to be more powerful and capable than its outgoing model, as it comes with notable upgrades and improvements.
The 2019 Ford Ranger, first and foremost, is expected to ride on a revised version of the current T6 platform which underpins Euro-spec Ranger. It is also reported to underpin the equally famous and highly-anticipated Ford Bronco which will be built at Ford's Wayne, Michigan production facility.
The upcoming Ford Ranger's power will come from both EcoBoost four- and six-cylinder engine. Industry experts are hoping for a diesel variant, which has yet to be confirmed. The direct-injected biturbo EcoBoost V-6 may be the range-topping engine of choice. However, the new 10-speed automatic which is co-developed with GM will come in standard. Both two and four-wheel-drive options will also be made available.
The 2019 Ford Ranger came in heavily camouflaged as it was recently spotted, offering limited information on its actual look. However, the Ranger heading to the US is reported to come with more distinctive design to meet the requirements of its North American buyers. It is expected to sport styling cues inspired by current F-150, with both Crew Cab and Super Cab available.
The upcoming Ranger's front nose retains the same hexagonal shape, however, the US Ranger may come sporting a four bar horizontal grille design compared to the three bar grille seen in the Australian Ranger. Chrome side view mirrors were also spotted as part of the US Ranger, with black wheel versions of the 18-inch split-spoke hoops of Wildtraks.
The 2019 Ford Ranger is highly anticipated and industry experts just have to wait one more year for its official debut. It is expected to be officially introduced to the market sometime 2018 as the 2019 model.
