All-New Vanquish Zagato Speedster Is Finally Happening But Only 28 Units Will Be Made

There have been reports that the automaker Aston Martin is currently in the works on creating an ultra-limited edition Vanquish Zagato Speedster. According to some close sources, the creator of this excellent vehicle is said to make an announcement soon.

While there hasn't been any official confirmation and no official images have been released by the automaker, Jan Peisert of Peisert Design has made a tantalizing render of what the new Speedster could look like, combining the elements of the Vanquish Zagato Volante and DB AR1 Roadster.

The result was spectacular. Unlike the Volante, Peisert claims that the Speedster will only be a two-seater, with Zagato humps and a two-piece roof.

The design is apparently based on the Vanquish Zagato Volante of which only 99 units were made. The Volante was inspired by the coupe which was revealed at the Villa d'Este in May 2016.

The Vanquish Zagato Speedster's characteristic design will feature a twin humps on the rear deck lid. Aside from that, the rest of the design will be the same with the Volante.

This model will be powered by the same 5.9-liter V12 engine as the Volante. The engine can produce 592 hp which is just enough to accelerate the Speedster from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Top speed is at 200 mph.

Nobody expected that the Zagato could improve the handsome looks of the Vanquish Volante, but the Speedster's styling looks much sportier and aggressive assuming that this render is a close approximation of the vehicle's final design.

According to Peisert, Aston Martin will only make 28 units of this two-seater supercar that will cost $1.3 million (excluding value added tax and options). Deliveries of the Vanquish Zagato Speedster are anticipated to start at the end of 2018. Be sure to check back at Auto World News for more updates of the Zagato Speedster.
