Japanese automaker Mazda revealed its newest big car for the Japan market. It released a teaser showing a 3-row car. The Mazda CX- 8 is the new crossover that will invade the Japanese market soon.
The style featured in the teaser looks like the CX-4. It's few inches shorter and a body a little bit narrower, the car will be a great fit in Japan. Mazda reveals that the new vehicle will be its main cross-over family car for the Japanese market.
While studies showed that there is already a growing demand for a three-row vehicle, Mazda's bigger CX-9 is not the answer to their needs. Fans and critics alike observe that it just look like a bigger version of the CX-5, but we will never know until the final product is launched.
Currently, the biggest 3-row crossover being sold by Mazda in Japan is the CX-5. Mazda thinks that the Mazda CX-8 will be a better fit for the family car market. The power of the upcoming CX-8 is coming from its 173 hp, 2.2 Liter turbocharged in-line diesel engine. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox for easier gear change. Two front wheels will be standard for the vehicle but buyers will have the option for an all-wheel drive. Customers can also choose if they want a six sit or seven-seat model.
The Mazda CX-8 is custom built not only for Japanese families but for its roads and street as well. With the ever growing demand for a three-row car that is not considered a van, Mazda Motors will try to corner the market with its new vehicle. The diesel powered vehicle may not be marketed in the United states because there is already a Mazda CX-9, which is much bigger, is intended for the US market. The vehicle will be officially launched later this year and will hit the market by the end of the current year.
