Like any compact sedan, the 2017 Subaru Impreza has a slew of new features that elicited good and not so good reviews from car enthusiasts. Subaru fans are happy with the new improvement and new additions.

The new 2017 Subaru Impreza was manufactured on the company's new Global Platform. This means that the newest Subaru is longer and wider. The chassis is also largely different, which means it is 70 percent stiffer than its predecessor model. The 2017 Subaru Impreza also does not disappoint in overall cargo space. A large space is available for five adult occupants.

Internally, the furnishings are just okay, not as sophisticated as the Mazda3 or Golf SportWagen. Interior furnishings usually come in cloth seats and there are four styles to choose from - Limited, Base, Sport, and Premium.

Not much difference under the hood. The 2017 Subaru Impreza has the same 2.0 liter, four cylinder engine. But horsepower went up to 152 from the previous 148 in 2016. Not much difference in the torque - still 145 lb.-ft.

Does the torque impress that much? Not really when the Mazda3 can do 184 horsepower.

Another stand-out feature of the 2017 Subaru Impreza is its All Wheel Drive function. That means this is one car you can bring out and drive in all weather. Another sure win highlight for this car is the Eyesight Package. This will provide lane departure warning and a lane-keeping assistance function

Now for the infotainment. Roadshow had a lukewarm reception to the apps uploaded into this car and viewed through its 6.5-inch touchscreen console. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are bundled up in the infotainment system.

During the review, Roadshow car reviewers failed to access the 2017 Subaru Impreza Starlink app. But on Subaru's website, it does show how great Starlink infotainment is. It will truly keep users connected with multimedia and offer more features passengers will find useful.
