Nintendo already did confirm that the final shipments of the mini-console classics will be arriving in stores this month. So here's the good news, Best Buy has revealed that the NES Classic will be available tomorrow at its stores and not online.
It's still unclear on how many retailers will be joining Best Buy in the upcoming days with holding stock. Many fans in the UK are also waiting for the same announcement from leading stores, although it's still unknown if Europe will be getting the same amount of stock for this month.
According to a Best Buy spokesperson, the NES Classic Edition will be sold on a first come, first served basis. But the company has a policy of not commenting on inventory, so it will be impossible to figure out whether this is the end of availability at the retailer or whether a few more units might arrive onto shelves on the upcoming days.
Meanwhile, in addition to selling the consoles only at their stores, the company will also be giving out discounts on its accessories. It's already obvious that all available stocks of the classic console will be sold out tomorrow within minutes, and as mentioned above that they may not hold any other units to sell in the following days, this might be the last chance at buying this console.
A bit unclear was the status of the console in the UK and other regions. However, a Nintendo spokesperson announced that worst stating that Nintendo will no longer manufacture the console in the region.
"We can confirm that we are no longer manufacturing the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System," the Nintendo spokesperson said. "If production resumes in the future, an update will be posted on the official Nintendo website."
However, there's good news for the fans of the NES Classic Edition. A credible report suggests that Nintendo is preparing a "SNES Mini" console that will be available to purchase just in time for this year's holiday shopping season. But let's just hope that Nintendo will not be limiting the production again.
