The brand new 2017 Mercedes-Benz Maybach S550 4Matic is the most luxurious Mercedes vehicle money can buy. It offers every safety, convenience, comfort, and tech feature available, plus a longer wheelbase for an extra back seat comfort and two of the powerful engines that carmaker produces.
Aside from the extra room afforded by its 7.9-inch wheelbase stretch, the Maybach offer a full gamut of rear-seat indulgences. It includes a rear seat that reclines, heating, ventilation, has adjustments for the shoulder and side bolsters, six massage functions and comfy pillow head restraints. There's also a standard dual-screen entertainment system and pop-up tables.
For this year, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is joined by the new 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S550 4Matic, which has a V8 engine and all-wheel drive in place of a V12 and rear-wheel drive. The 4.7-liter V8 engine can make 449 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, and 4Matic AWD is standard.
On the inside, the new Maybach is treated with leather covering the seats, armrests, doors, console and ceiling - but the latter two are heated. Also, all outboard seats are heated and ventilated, and feature memory settings, adjustable side, and shoulder bolster, multiple lumbar settings and six massage programs. The front seats have a 12-way adjustment, and the back seats give four-way power recline. Other features include a four-zone climate control, a cabin air fragrance system and power rear sunshades.
On the tech side, it features a full-speed adaptive cruise control, an automatic parking system, surround view parking cameras, a night-vision display, a variety of accident prevention technologies, a head-up display, the Mercedes COMAND interface that has two 12.3-inch screens, a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless headphones, a DVD player and auxiliary audio and video inputs. Other techs include two USB ports, a 24-speaker Burmester surround-sound system with a six-CD/DVD changer, satellite and HD radios, and a media player interface.
Mercedes claims that the MS550 is the quietest sedan in the world. The new 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S550 4Matic base price is $166,200.
