Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Further Delayed? The New Tablet Is Not Expected In The May 2 Event

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date is still a guessing game for those who have been anxiously waiting for its debut. It seems that it will be further delayed as the upcoming event of the tech giant is focused on education and may not likely to show off the next-generation tablet.

A new theory has surfaced explaining why Microsoft is delaying the release of the next-generation tablet. Reports have noted that Microsoft is known for scheduling events to launch the hardware and software of the next-gen flagship prior to launching it. Many believe this that Microsoft wants to orient its customers first about the entire package of the upcoming flagship to give some glimpses of the content of the new gadget.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to run with the latest Windows 10 Creators Update. Various reports have speculated that the tech giant will delay the release of the new tablet to focus on the Windows 10 Creators Update first.

It seems that the new theory has some truth to it. As we have previously reported, the new tablet will still be hiding as the company releases the new operating system and as of this time, there is still no official word on the Surface Pro 5 release date.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has sent out invitations to analysts, press and other guests for its upcoming event scheduled next month. The company is having a #MicrosoftEDU event set on May 2 which will focus highly on education.

The event is believed to be the highly speculated spring event of the tech giant where new flagships will be launched. However, the event title does not seem to confirm the debut of new gadgets as the invite seems to emphasize on education.

According to Microsoft tipster Mary Jo Fowley, her sources said the upcoming event will highlight the still unconfirmed Windows Cloud version of Windows 10. Furthermore, the tipster said that the May 2 event will unlikely be the center stage for the debut of the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
