Chinese for 'Clouds', the Yuntu Hybrid Concept, a seven-seater SUV, had just made its debut at 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. This China-exclusive vehicle would be the largest SUV to be manufactured by Jeep.

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) drivetrain will power its engine with 3.6-liter capacity, though no further technical specifications were revealed about the auto. It is rumored that the Yuntu will be a stretched version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform, allowing extra space for seven people. And there is still no clear scale for this vehicle whether it would be small seven-seater jeeps like the Nissan Rogue or a large one like the Land Rover Discovery.

The Jeep Yuntu's front will have sleek style skinny LED headlight fixtures and striking fog lamps but less polarizing as with the Cherokee. A horizontally positioned seven-slot grille will not be missed by this auto which signifies its membership among the Jeep clan. Slim taillights run into a conceptually chunky D-pillar will be placed at its rear. Even with the innovations made, Yuntu will still retain the same rugged character of a Jeep model with a boxy structure, but it would have the most modern look among them.

A uniquely designed cabin will be exposed as the reverse suicide doors open up. A large LCD screen installed inside will stretch from the gauge cluster to the center console, to the passenger dash. Eight more screens should be noticed inside the car, each of them for providing entertainment systems to the second- and third-row passengers. Also, it will have mobile social, biometric security, and self-driving functionality.

For its production, the Jeep Yuntu Concept will be co-manufactured through the local GAC and Fiat-Chrysler collaboration, though it would be restricted to the Chinese market. However, the cloud concept can fly its way to other countries but with a different badge, more like a Chrysler emblem will be used for American production.
