It seems Hyundai has not forgotten about its quirky coupe as an update is on its way. The new Hyundai Veloster that has been spotted has a refreshed design, but it will retain its standout feature: its asymmetric doors.

The next-generation Hyundai Veloster is camouflaged, yet some interesting styling details can still be seen. At the front, the coupe sports a lower hood, smaller headlights, and an extravagant "cascade grille."

At the back where the camouflage is the heaviest, it can only be speculated that the same amount of glass is still present on the hatch. The taillights have also been updated to be in line with the taillights of the latest Hyundai cars. There is also the center-exit exhaust sans the split in the middle along with auxiliary vents on the sides of the bumper.

Lastly, the same asymmetric doors can be seen on the new Hyundai Veloster. There is only one door on the left side of the car and two doors on the right. Also, the rear door handle is situated in the corner of the door window.

Although the set-up is unconventional, Hyundai design chief Peter Schreyer said that the Veloster is actually popular because it is unique and it has something that "nobody else has."

"So that's why I think why not do it [again]?" Schreyer said. "In the beginning of the Veloster, it was something at first glance that was a bit unusual or peculiar, but in the end, it gives the car a lot of character and I've spoken to quite a few people who own the car."

He also said that owners are satisfied with the Hyundai Veloster, with most of them saying that it is cool and practical. Although the coupe was not that successful in other countries when it came out, there is no telling just how the second generation will fare today.
