The 2018 BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition has developed into the highest-selling plug-in hybrid sports car. Its appeal will be given a fresh gleam at the upcoming 2017 Shanghai Motor Show for the first time.

The car model features an attractive matte yellow exterior with contrasting accents in Frozen Grey metallic. This new paint is incorporated through a process of transfer of the color to the new vehicle's body of reinforced plastic with carbon fiber. On the other hand, the model's delineate identical to the regular model gets a contemporary designed special 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels giving the special edition a peculiar appearance alongside.

The car's interior also carries homologous design input of yellow contrast stitching, chiefly designed floor mats, and anthracite-coloured headliner. In addition, the interior also boasts gray colored seat belts, exclusive sill plates designating the special edition. The vehicle's ceiling is anthracite, and the selector called iDrive Controller comes with ceramic applications.

The 2018 BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition comes with the 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that is integrated with a small electric motor. Meanwhile, its hybrid powertrain is capable of churning out 357 hp of peak power and 568 Nm of peak torque.

The special edition model is capable of accelerating 0-100 kph in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 250 kph. Consequently, it appears that the powertrain and performance of the 2018 BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition remain the same as the standard model. Anticipate the special edition vehicle to come in limited numbers and will go on sale in September of 2017. Pricing will be announced at the model's launching.
