Renderings for the upcoming iPhone 8, although Apple could still change the name, have seemingly appeared days following the claimed 3D design drawing of the flagship device. And it suggests that the iPhone is changing.
The consistent renderings that have appeared seem to fully scream Apple's ambitious plans at shaking up a bit the new design for their upcoming anniversary flagship device. If these renderings are true, then this will be the first radical design Apple has taken in 3 years, as the Cupertino-based tech giant has since re-used the 2014 design for the iPhone in 2015 and 2016.
Now, based on the renderings of a frequent Weibo leaker KK, which have originated from ifanr, the upcoming iPhone 8 measure 137.54 mm by 67.54 mm. This is nearly identical in size as the iPhone 7 (138.3 mm x 67.1 mm). However, how thick or thin the flagship device will be wasn't indicated.
Meanwhile, the image of the iPhone shows a consistent 4mm bezel on all 4 sides of the display. This is the same size as that of Benjamin Geskin's renderings. The display, on the other hand, measures 5.768 inches diagonally and could cover nearly the whole front face of the flagship device.
However, it should be noted that the veracity of these renderings for the upcoming iPhone 8 cannot be confirmed. But both KK and Geskin have shared accurate details in the past on devices.
Based on the images, it seems Apple might integrate the dedicated Home button and fingerprint sensor under the device's display. Also, there is no visible Touch ID sensor, and rumors noted that the company has been struggling with perfecting this technology. And instead, they might just place the sensor on the rear of the device.
Instead of the usual camera found in iPhones, this upcoming iPhone 8 rendering shows a vertical dual camera with LED flash situated in between both cameras. There is also a narrow earpiece at the top of the front of the device. The front-facing camera could be placed here along with the microphone hole, ambient light, sensor, rumored 3D sensor, and proximity sensor.
Apple has not confirmed any of the renderings appearing recently. There is ample amount of time until Apple's iPhone 8 release date, and with that time window, a lot could be changed. It's safe to say that many are in fact excited for the unveiling of the Cupertino-based tech giant's anniversary device.
