The 2018 Audi A8 was recently viewed all stripped down to its bare frame. It then revealed that it has predominantly aluminum-made underpinnings. Aluminum, alongside steel, magnesium, and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer makes up most of the 2018 A8.
The 2018 Audi A8 also will have a more spacious rear compartment with 1.1-inches extra knee room. Surely, Audi has passenger comfort as its top priority for creating the 2018 A8 as it also has increased its headroom by 0.5-inches. This may not be much, however, a little goes a long way especially in terms of the car's interior.
Ingress and egress of passengers are relatively easier because of a 1.4-inch stretch at the door cutouts. These features pertain to the standard-wheelbase version so the A8L will significantly be even more spacious and roomier.
The 2018 Audi A8 is also considered 25 percent stiffer, making it surpass its predecessor. No detail was spared in the upcoming A8 to make it an even better performing sedan than ever before.
The A8 has been spotted several times, with one being tested on the snow. From what was seen, industry experts and car enthusiasts were impressed with its performance. It was able to tackle the snow seamlessly, suggesting superb handling. Even more recently, it was spotted less camouflaged revealing, even more, bits of information on its interior and exterior.
It is also reported that the basic engine lineup of the upcoming A8 will be similar to that of the current model which means there will be V-6 and V-8 units. A W-12 is also expected to be offered again, alongside the possibility of a battery-electric option. There is also no official word if diesel variant will be made available in the United States, however, it will certainly be offered in one of the other markets.
The 2018 Audi A8 is also expected to come with the latest technologies aimed at assisting the driver. A good example is its capability of handling situations in full self-driving mode. There are much more technological marvels to watch out for as the 2018 A8 is slated to debut on July 11 at the first Audi Summit in Barcelona.
