With its excellent blend of craftsmanship, utility, luxury, and elegance, the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir deserves the title as the company's flagship crossover model. With its growing popularity, the Enclave has helped Buick establish its brand in the United States and in select international markets.
The new 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir promises top-class comfort and exclusivity. The crossover is built on a new platform that has been completely redesigned. Dubbed as the C1XX platform from General Motors, it is the same underpinnings on which the Chevrolet Traverse is built upon.
The Enclave Avenir has a wheelbase that measures 120.9 inches. Its length provides more room in the interior. The crossover measures 204.3 inches long, 78.8 inches wide, and 69.9 inches tall.
In a statement acquired by The Drive, General Motors Corporation vice president of global operations Duncan Aldred said, "The Enclave has been a successful formula for the Buick brand, with sales results that have defied traditional product cycles and 90 percent of customers purchasing in the top two trim levels."
Under the hood, the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir packs the 3.6-liter V6 engine which is similar to the one used by the last generation model. However, the engine is now attached to a new nine-speed gearbox in automatic transmission. The engine produces 306horsepower and 260-lb-ft of torque.
The standard model comes in front-wheel drive, although it can be configured to have an all-wheel drive option. In terms of mileage, the Enclave Avenir is rated at 17mpg for city, 25mpg for highway, and 20mpg combined, according to CNet.
Buick has yet to confirm the official price of the 2018 Enclave Avenir. Nevertheless, the company deserves commendation for building another immaculate looking car.
