The ongoing New York International Auto Show has confirmed a lot of things for the car enthusiasts and one of them is the availability of Audi's sports cars in the United States. According to Audi of America President Scott Keogh, eight new models will be released.

The Audi Sport GmBH, the company's in-house tuning brand, is producing RS cars and the R8 for America in the next couple of years. The NYIAS already showcased three of eight, the RS3 Sedan, the RS5 Coupe, and the most powerful TT RS. All three can be expected to be released soon.

There is no word yet on what's coming next, but the recent sighting of the RS4 Avant at the Nurburgring spells its imminent launch within the next two years. An RS Q5 is also possible given that Audi Sport head Stephan Winkelmann heavily hinted that SUVs arriving soon. The remaining two cars, however, is up to speculations.

Meanwhile, Audi's TT RS is making headlines for being the most powerful TT car ever. Its unique five-cylinder engine allows it to generate a whopping 400 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. It goes from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, which tops other TT RS models and even the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S by a half second.

The Audi TT RS also comes in a standard all-wheel drive system and seven-speed transmission, which includes Comfort, Dynamic, Auto, and Individual drive modes. Another feature that stands out is its lightweight components. The engine is about 57 pounds lighter and the carbon-ceramic brake discs account for the 8 pounds loss of weight.

If those improvements are not enough, buyers can also upgrade the sports coupe to include a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. The Audi TT RS is heading to dealerships this spring. It is relatively affordable for such a small and fast car from Audi at $64,900 starting price.
