As an answer to AMD Ryzen's new lineup, Intel will be releasing the Skylake X-Series. This is in line with the release of one of their much-awaited processors the Kaby Lake-X.

Users find it interesting that Skylake X and Kaby Lake-X will be introduced at the same time. Skylake X will be available in different types of processors, 10-core, 8-core and 6-core that has a 140W TDP.

It will feature a 44 PCI-Express 3.0 lanes from the CPU that has a total of 68 lanes. It also has a quad-channel DDR4-2667 memory support that has a 140W TDP. The processor also has a 16 PCI-Express 3.0 lane that has a total of 40 lanes.

On the other hand, Kaby Lake-X will have a 4-core SKU that has an 112W TDP that has a Hyper-Threading Support. The processor also has a dual-channel DDR4-2667 memory support, which is somewhat lower for 112W TDP. Nevertheless, Intel will reportedly market this as one of Core i7-7000 series processors.

However, users planning to upgrade to the two processors has to buy a new motherboard. They will be introducing a new socket called LGA 2066, otherwise called Socket R4 that is part of Intel's Basin Fall platform.

This news started last weekend and continues to fire up its users. Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X are supposed to be Intel's new offering on its high-end desktop line.

Aside from that, there are rumors circulating that Intel will be introducing a new processor later this year. The processor called Coffee Lake will presumably be launched in the fourth quarter of 2017, which was followed by the 10nm Cannonlake launch.

Skylake X and Kaby Lake-X will reportedly be introduced in Computex, which will run from May 30-June 3, 2017. This is months earlier than Intel's first announcement that they will be introducing the processors in Gamescom that will run from August 22-26, 2017.
