iOS 6 Jailbreak Tweak: Facebook Messenger Heads To iPhone, iPad After Hacker Creates Cydia App In 24 Hours (VIDEO)

Facebook updated its iOS app earlier this week and the biggest change users have had to get used to is the new Chat Heads feature.

The feature, which was designed to make your Facebook Messenger conversations easy to access anywhere, only works when you're actually using the Facebook app on iOS according to the International Digital Times.

So far, the feature doesn't quite work the same as it does on an Android device according to those who have rated the app.

The problem presented an opportunity to 21-year-old computer science major Adam Bell, who was able to create a iOS 6 jailbreak tweak in only 24 hours after the new Facebook app was release.

"I just got jealous. I wanted them on iOS," said Bell to the Verge about the tweak. "The hardest part was getting this all to render on top of everything else. It doesn't seem very resource intensive. Only when you move the Chat Head is it actually doing anything."

Bell's teak is not available in Cydia just yet, but he's hoping it will be up within the next week or so according to the Verge.

This is the first piece of good news regarding jailbreaking in the last month since Apple's news iOS update was released.

iOS 6.1.3 was release back in mid-March by Apple.

The new iOS also blocks anyone from bypassing an iPhone lockscreen using its emergency call function, allowing the user to make a call or gaining partial access to the phone's private data according to Forbes.

Over 20 million users downloaded the jailbreak called EvasiOn, and for six weeks their site was easily one of the most visited webpages on the internet. Since the iOS 6.1.3 upgrade the site's viewers and the download count for EvasiOn has gone down drastically.

EvasiOn co-creator Joshua Hill, known on Twitter as POsixninja, stated that he's figured out everything necessary in order to help him create the next jailbreak, but would have to do so by himself if he does in fact release it to the public.

It's commonly believed that Hill won't release the next jailbreak until the next iPhone is released which will probably come with iOS 7.
