Android's next major update, the Android O, is set to replace the Nougat OS in a few months. By the looks of it, it is going to be even more feature-packed than the current operating system. Here's a look at its best features.

More Customization Options. Android encourages customization, and owners will finally be able to spice up their lock screens further. Aside from the standard shortcuts, Google will give users more options to better make use of an empty screen.

Speaking of customization, icons will now adjust according to the theme of the device. As much as Android phones are personalized, some apps cannot follow through with the downloadable themes. When Android O rolls out, developers will be able to implement various shapes on their app icons, such as a circle, rounded square, and more.

Improved User Experience. Android O will make the devices' batteries more efficient by limiting app activities in the background. This will mostly go unnoticed by the users as they are busy using the current app, but the operating system will make sure that the apps that are not in use will not refresh more than needed.

The OS will also support Multi-Display, which launches activities on separate displays in one screen, and Picture-in-Picture. The latter sort of works like YouTube where the video keeps playing in a small window in the corner while browsing other aspects of the app. Android O will adapt the feature outside of the app, but only if the app supports it.
