BMW M2 Vs Audi RS3 Sedan: Which Should You Buy This Year?

With the release of the new Audi RS3, it is set out to compete directly with the BMW M2. Both cars cater to the same market, and both brands are pretty good at what they are doing. It all comes down to specs, features, and the preferences of the buyers. Here's a little comparison to help out potential owners.

In the engine department, the Audi RS3 has more advantage over its rival. It boasts a 2.5-liter turbocharged I5 that produces 400 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. It takes the RS3 3.9 seconds to accelerate from zero to 60 mph and at $55,450, consumers get an all-wheel drive with the standard seven-speed dual clutch automatic.

On the other hand, the BMW M2 is a little lower-specced than the Audi. Its 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 engine churns out 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. It goes from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, which is 0.4 slower than its competitor. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission and costs $52,500.

While Audi (slightly) wins in specs, it does not take into account the actual driving performance of the BMW M2. Driving the latter is sharper and steering is a breeze. It being a rear-wheel drive only makes it stand out better than the Audi when it comes to having that "driving a sports car" feel.

But the interior is another matter. In this case, the Audi wins again with its Virtual Cockpit and bunker grade materials on the cabin. As for the exterior, it's a matter of the buyer's preference, but both look equally awesome.

As a conclusion, the Audi RS3 is the one for those who prefer a more cool-looking interior and a better performance. The BMW M2 offers a better driving experience, so at the end, it all boils down to the customer's priorities.
