Aston Martin recently officially announced that testing has started for its upcoming Aston Martin DB11 Volante. The British luxury brand also said the soft top convertible is also going to be launched a year and half away.
The DB11 Volante is the open-top version of the recently launched DB11. It does look sleek and classy and is expected to be one of the most powerful convertibles upon official launch. The Aston Martin DB11 Volante is expected to produce 600-horsepower and 700 nm of torque. It can also accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
It is definitely impossible for industry experts and car enthusiasts to not take notice. Being a convertible gives it a distinct appeal and attitude, but having such power takes the Volante to a whole new different level. It is impressive and exceptional which is expected from an Aston Martin.
The DB11 Volante's silhouette has been revealed last fall. After which, its development has been in full steam as it continues its testing session at Nurburgring. The prototype looks exactly the same as the one currently being tested according to reliable sources.
The Aston Martin DB11 Volante is expected to come a little heavier. With the heavier body, it may be a little slower. However, in Aston Martin's standard, "slow" is still considered extremely fast.
The Aston Martin DB11 Volante is also expected to be more powerful than the Mercedes-AMG GT S but not as potent and powerful as the GT C Coupe. Intense competition is then expected between these rides as the Volante gets officially launched by fall of next year.
However, there is a twist to the news. As earlier mentioned, the prototype looks the same as the spied photos but the license plate shows it's a different car. Whether it was indeed the Aston Martin DB11 Volante spied or a different vehicle, the Volante will be one ride to watch out for. Stay tuned for official news as it will immediately be reported.
