The New 2017 Nissan Rogue Comes With Top Safety Features

Nissan Rogue is a front-wheel-drive crossover SUV that competes against long-time winners like the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Mazda CX-5, and Subaru Forester. It is a comfortable and versatile vehicle, with an optional third row of seating and available all-wheel drive.

Business Insider had a chance to take the second-generation model of Nissan Rogue for a spin. The SL Premium trim they tested has a price tag of $31,310, however, the base price of 2017 Nissan Rogue is $23,820. The new model has very little changes on the exterior. Most notably, it comes with a revamped front fascia and integrated fog lamps. The SL Premium trim comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 170 horsepower and 175 pound-foot of torque.

On the inside, the SL Premium trim comes with the Platinum Reserve Interior Package. The seats have tan color with special quilted leather inserts that improve the driver comfort. For a small size SUV, the Rogue has plenty of trunk space too. The driver can lift up the base of the trunk so he can store flatter objects in order to maximize the available space. The navigation system also gives clear directions on the driver’s virtual instrument in addition to the display.

What sets apart this SUV is the actual tech it offers for the price. There are plenty of auxiliary controls on the steering wheel that are easy to reach and get a hang of after just a few hours of driving. There is an option for a heated steering wheel as well. There is 7-inch touchscreen display where the driver can use the NissanConnect navigation system which is great in many ways. The system can autofill your destinations so you’re not spending a lot of time tapping on the touchscreen.

On the safety side, the Nissan Rogue comes with rear traffic alert that displays the view behind the car when you enter reverse. The car also comes with a lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, intelligent cruise control, and forward collision warning with pedestrian detection.

According to N Sea Voice, the Nissan Rogue achieved remarkable figures on the sales front. The sales kept going in February all the way until March. In March, the Rogue was posting a 25.6% increase in sales which takes the figures to 39,512. This number puts Rogue at the top spot on the year-to-date sales charts.
All around, the Nissan Rogue is a great crossover SUV that comes with some sweet tech perks that make up for the price, and the sale numbers show just that. Stay tuned for more details!
