2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R U.S. Price is $157,995

The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R price was recently revealed. It has a U.S. market price of $157,995. It is a ferocious beast of a car and is currently the range-topper of the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT line.

According to a recent report by Motor Authority, the German automaker recently announced the pricing of its performance division's range-topper. It is $12,000 above the GT C, but has the same price as the GT C Roadster.

Is it worth the price tag for the range-topper? Definitely! The GT R has 577 horsepower and a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It is capable of doing 0 to 60 mph in only 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 198 mph. It isn't just fast, it is also a dedicated track-focused vehicle too!

This year, it now gets a wider track, a coil-over setup with adaptive dampers, and customer lightweight suspensions bits. It also has a Sport mode which is perfect for endurance tracks like Germany's Nürburgring. In addition, there is also a Sport Plus mode for flat, modern, Grand Prix tracks such as Hockenheim.

The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R is offered exclusively in Green Hell Magno. It is a mean, green, racing machine! It will officially go on sale this summer with the rest of the lineup.

In another report by Car and Driver, it was stated that the full AMG GT lineup pricing is now available. The AMG GT coupe is the "starter" model at $113,395. Next, there's the AMG GT roadster which is priced at $125,395. Next comes the GT S coupe which has a price tag of $133,395. The GT C coupe is priced at $145,995 while the roadster variant has the same price as the GT R coupe at $157,995.

The 2018 Mercedes AMG GT R is fast and fearless. It leads the pack of AMG GT sports cars for this year and is also reportedly the fastest and most fun to drive. What do you think about the 2018 AMG GT lineup? What about the GT R? Share your thoughts and comments below!
