Volkswagen has been focusing on electric cars for the future. The VW Budd-e Concept is one of their innovative creations that will surely gather attention as it was loved and praised by the audiences as it was introduced during the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

This Family friendly and retro inspired vehicle from VW has been granted for production. It is also one of the first cars built with the company's new platform, the Modular Electric Drive.

The car design of this concept pays tribute to the iconic Bus that was introduced way back in 1950 and was discontinued after a few short years. For the power provided for this vehicle, it is from the rear-mounted electric motor that is programmed to zap the car's rear wheels with 163 of horsepower. The VW Budd-e Concept also has upcoming advances when it comes to battery technology. It will contribute to an improved range of 310 miles. At an extra cost, the all-wheel drive will also be offered.

With Volkswagen's team of Engineers, they have reached into conclusion to create the concept with an enough space for seven passengers spreading out from its three rows of seats. According to some enthusiasts, the concept of Volkswagen might lead the market after toying with the vision of going back to the commercial vehicles segment.

The VW Budd-e Concept, as well as other future electric vehicles from Volkswagen, will be well-equipped with HD screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, an advanced head-up display, and the technology that the automaker has been developing, the semi-autonomous. The model concept is expected to be out sometime in 2020.

According to the Company's brand head, Herbert Diess, "It's a very tight time plan for 2020, but we need the cars then to comply with our fleet targets." He also added, "China will be our volume base and scale base for all the electric vehicles we are doing."
