Vauxhall has just released the first photo teaser for the new Grandland X. Spy photos have also surfaced revealing the latest rival of Nissan Qashqai appears to be coming out with a new shape and significant revisions.
The first official teaser image for the new Vauxhall Grandland X has surfaced. The image actually came out from the personal social media account of the automaker's big boss.
Karl-Thomas Neumann, the CEO of Opel, took to his own Twitter account a photo teasing the new SUV. The post does not seem to be intended to unveil details but just to confirm the existence of the new model.
Karl-Thomas Neumann captioned his tweet saying the image was taken at the plant of Opel. The CEO introduced the Grandland X and then teased that he will also post a videocast of the new crossover so fans are encouraged to "Stay tuned!"
However, the teaser photo was not generous enough to reveal much details. The teaser photo only shows the brightly lit headlights of the car in up close shot. The light reflection was extremely bright that it has covered the details of the car from being seen in the shot.
Meanwhile, spy photos have also surfaced revealing more details of the upcoming Grandland X. The prototype of the new SUV was spotted while on winter testing.
Although the mule is heavily camouflaged, the change in the whole form of the new SUV can be spotted from the spy photos. The new Grandland X will have higher shoulderline at the rear section and a roofline that has been slightly dropped.
At the front, the grille and rounded face appear similar with the Crossland X and Mokka X. From behind, the covered taillights seem to have a resemblance of the one from Astra.
It has been reported that PSA Peugeot Citroen Group will be the supplier of the components for the new Grandland X. The new SUV will share PSA's EMP2 platform tech with Peugeot's 3008 and 5008 models.
The new Vauxhall Grandland X is expected to be launched this year. The automaker has not confirmed the official release date as of this time.
