The 2018/2019 Cadillac XT4 is expected to be revealed between late 2018 or early 2019. It has recently been spied as it goes through a battery of road testing in Milford, Connecticut. The prototype is heavily camouflaged but that won't stop experts from coming up with reviews based on what was made available.
Though heavily camouflaged, those who were able to witness the prototype got to see the exact shape of B and C-pillars. The front had even more cover to hide the sharp design with swept back headlights and large radiator grille. This doesn't deter those who saw the spied Cadillac as they noticed some openings in the bumper and grille where some cameras and radars are located.
The 2018/2019 Cadillac XT4 is also expected to share the same underpinnings as the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain. With this, it may be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine which is capable of delivering 252-horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. There may also be a smaller 1.5-liter turbo unit available which is slightly weaker for producing 170-horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque.
The Cadillac XT4 is reported to not only be available in the US but also in Europe which offers tough competition with prolific European brands such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and much more. In Europe, however, the upcoming SUV will be offered with a 1.6-liter diesel engine which is capable of producing 136-horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque.
Though the Cadillac XT4 is positioned to be under XT5, it is certain that this compact luxury crossover will ride on Cadillac's C1XX platform. It is also expected to have some features of the more extravagant XT5 such as customizable ambient lighting, climate control, and much more. It will also be safe as it has multiple airbags, stability control, rearview camera, and blind-spot monitor to name a few.
The 2018/2019 Cadillac XT4 is expected to be a hit, especially in the U.S. Cadillacs are known for its class and style and the upcoming XT4 is sure to not disappoint. It may all be worth the wait as this luxury crossover won't be made available in few years.
