Hyundai has been showing off a number of new vehicles this week at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show this week, including the all-electric E4U, a one-seater that looks more like an egg than a car.
The egg shaped device is a one-seater that can move with ease in any direction. The E4U travels on a rotating front sphere and two small rear wheels for support, allowing the 180lb vehicle to go wherever the driver wants it to according to Yahoo.
Instead of using wheels, the E4U relies on a base hemisphere which runs on a 24 volt, 500-watt battery according to Hyundai.
The "E" in E4U represents a number of things according to Hyundai including "egg, evolution, and ecology."
The South Korean company wanted to create a vehicle that could help people fit into tight city parking spots while also running on electric battery power. They accomplished both with the E4U.
The vehicle also features headgear instead of an actual roof, which comes with a chinstrap according to Yahoo.
The vehicle wasn't designed to win any races however, as it only has a reported top speed of 18 mph according to the New York Daily News.
Hyundai has yet to reveal if the vehicle will be released in the U.S., as it would be hard to sell in suburban locations that rely on highways. There is a chance the model could be sold in big cities like New York, but this hasn't even been discussed yet by Hyundai.
