2018 Volkswagen Atlas Price Starts At $30,500, Comes In Five Variants

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas' pricing details have finally arrived, putting the SUV's base price at $30,500. The suggested retail price will get buyers the entry-level class, the Atlas S. The high-end model, the Atlas SEL, starts at $39,160.

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas S sports a 2.0-liter TSI engine that produces 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The base model also comes with standard equipment. It comes ready with 18-inch rims, LED headlights, and a 6.5-inch infotainment system, a cruise control, and a six-speaker system.

The entry-level variant can be upgraded to a 3.6-liter V6 front-wheel drive for $1,400 more or to an all-wheel drive for $3,200 more than the base price. With the six-cylinder engine, owners can enjoy 277 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. As of now, the V6 Atlas S models are readily available, while the four-cylinder one's availability has yet to be announced.

Then there is also the limited edition Atlas S launch, which is slightly more expensive yet is packed with more features. For $33,500 for FWD or $35,300 for AWD, it comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, and more.

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas also come in SE and SEL models, with the latter being the highest-end. The Atlas SE costs $33,590 with the four-cylinder engine, $34,990 with the six-cylinder FWD, and $36,790 for the V6 AWD.

Aside from standard equipment, the Atlas SE also have heated mirrors, automatic headlights and wipers, leather-clad steering wheel, and keyless entry. There are other features as well, but another version called the Atlas SE with Technology has even more current gen tech such as remote start, Autonomous Emergency Braking system, and more for $37,090 or $38,890.

On the other hand, the base Atlas SEL starts at $39,160 with the smaller engine. As expected, buyers can choose to upgrade it to a V6 FWD for $40,890 or AWD for $42,690. It is a nice deal for an SUV featuring a panoramic sunroof, an 8-way passenger seat, a power outlet on the second row, and more.

The specs sound nice, but the Atlas SEL Premium, which is the top-of-the-line model, is better inside and out. The V6-powered vehicle with AWD starts at $48,490 with 20-inch rims, leather seats, Volkswagen's digital cockpit, Area View camera, and much more.

The $30,500 base price of the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is already a steal for those who want to get in on the VW SUV wagon. The almost $50,000 Premium line, however, is worth the price for those who want maximum features and comfortability in their travels.
