The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T flagship smartphones have recently received a new beta update. The new OxygenOS open beta brings a lot of nifty features, including the new launcher which looks hauntingly similar to the one embedded on the Google Pixel.
Testers have pointed out quite a handful of similar features of the new OxygenOS with the Google Pixel. Some of the rather popular ones are the app drawer, launcher shortcut, and swipe-up gesture.
The new OxygenOS Open Beta 13 is for the OnePlus 3 smartphone, while the Open Beta 4 is intended for the OnePlus 3T. Those who were able to download the new beta will notice that network speeds are now displayed on the screen's status bar, according to Android Authority. There is also a new user interface for launching settings.
The Night Mode feature is also set to automatic activation. The app drawer is significantly revamped, with the inclusion of a Do Not Disturb mode when gaming, according to Phone Arena. Users have also pointed out a significant improvement in touch latency and optimization of EIS for video.
A new Secure Box file encryption feature was also added. On top of these new nifty features are several bug fixes and optimizations. Minor issues that have been pointed out in the past should be pretty much ironed out with the new update. There is also an improvement in contacts management which now allows linking and merging functions. OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T owners in India can also take advantage of the new Quick Pay option.
The new OnePlus OxygenOS Open Beta will be delivered through OTA. Those who have previously flashed an old Open Beta build should be able to access the new update. For those who have not, they are required to flash the new build manually.
