The 2018 Acura TLX will have the Acura Precision Concept that first arrived at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The Precision Concept displays Acura’s vehicle design which looks good and sporty. The concept focuses more on high-contrast details on the interior that highlight performance and prestige through a low and wide stance with a long and deep dashboard. The exterior, however, features a dramatic styling and front pentagonal grille.

As reported by Car Buzz, the new 2018 Acura TLX will make its debut at the New York Auto Show on April 11. Compared to the old model, the 2018 TLX will take a new direction for Acura’s design language, with aggressive and sporty styling inspired by the Acura Precision Concept. As seen on the teaser image, the TLX will have a completely redesigned front-end, with a new grille, bumper, and redesigned headlights.

On top of that, the interior will be packed with premium features and technology enhancement that place the TLX among the most technologically advanced cars in its segment. Vice president and general manager of Acura, Jon Ikeda, said that the new styling of 2018 TLX will reflect Acura’s focus on Precision Crafted Performance.

Paultan’s spy photographers managed to snap a few photos of the TLX during a promotional shoot. The Precision Concept style is evidently present on the new model. As for the powertrain, the current Acura LTX is available with two engines.

The first being a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 206 horsepower and 247Nm of torque and it is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The second engine is a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 362Nm of torque and it is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Models with the V6 engine can be equipped with Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system, while Precision All-Wheel Steer can be fitted to both engine types. It is still unknown if the engines will stay the same for the 2018 LTX, or they will be changed.
