The 2018 BMW X3 M40i will finally be available in US dealerships this October. It should be a good treat as the US welcomes fall of this year. It will officially be introduced to the market in June giving more information and details on this highly anticipated BMW SUV.
The 2018 BMW X3 M40i is expected to be lighter with its rear-wheel drive platform geared to increase interior space and provide a more comfortable ride. This is possible because the X3 is 220-pounds lighter. It is given that lighter vehicles translate to better fuel efficiency so weight loss such as this is significantly beneficial in many ways as proven by the upcoming X3.
BMW is also reported to outfit the compact X3 with a powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine for the M40i. The new X3 will also be getting a number of rear-wheel drive models. Gas and diesel options are available.
The 2018 BMW X3 M40i is also expected to be more powerful than the X4 M40i as it can produce up to 400-horsepower. It is also able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 4.6 to 4.7-seconds and can reach the top speed of 155 mph.
After its June debut, the all-new 2018 BMW X3 M40i will be in production. It is going to be produced in Spartanburg factory in South Carolina and Rosslyn Assembly plant in South Africa. This is of course following the timeline as it should be available in US dealerships by October.
The 2018 BMW X3 M40i definitely will be undergoing intense quality check following the recall incident that happened last year and some just this month. The recent recall, though isolated, concerns deployment of the airbag. The massive recall from last year had something to do with the car's loose wiring forcing the fuel to leak.
Hopefully, this ends the string of recall incidents as it is not doing the German company any good. With the 2018 BMW X3 M40i's release, much-needed attention will be focused on what it can deliver and not the recall that just recently happened.
