Spy shots of a camouflaged Ford Mustang have recently hit the internet. The vehicle in the shots appear to be a heavily modified Shelby GT350R sporting what looks like an adjustable aggressive-looking rear wing.

Spy shots of a modified Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang revealed. The spy shots of what seems to be a modified Shelby GT350R were posted on the website Mustang6g.com. The images show that this Ford Mustang looks very different from the current GT350R and even another Mustang prototype driving around the car manufacturer's Dearborn Development center in the previous summer as seen in a video.

The photo shows this Mustang to have a flap over its front fender open showing louvers built into the top of it. It should be noted that this doesn't currently show up on any other Mustang released by Ford. This feature is conventionally used for relieving air pressure built up in the wheel wells to reduce front end life and improve brake cooling when driving really fast at the same time.

There are speculations that Ford could be releasing a new Mustang that runs on either a supercharged or twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This would allow Ford to compete with Chevrolet's Camaro ZL1's 650 horsepower output.

Ford has not made any announcements to confirm the vehicle captured in these spy shots. What this Ford Mustang will sport as a name is up for speculation just like any other detail.

In other Ford-related news, it has been said that the car manufacturer is currently working on an answer to the 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The answer seems to be in the form of a 2018 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang which may sport a twin-turbocharged Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine. The engine could be tweaked to top the current GT500's 662 horsepower output from its 5.8-liter supercharged V8 engine.
