Approximately 36 units of 2017 BMW X5 were recalled recently. However, there is definitely no need to panic. Such cases are considered isolated and there are ways to be done to further attend to the unfortunate situation.
The 2017 BMW X5 is definitely one of the best around and it is unfortunate that some owners may be affected because of this inconvenience. According to Cars.com, the problem stems from its airbags. The passenger frontal airbag modules use airbag inflators that may not deploy in an unfortunate crash. This, in turn, may make the inflator to rupture and send metal fragments flying around the cabin.

If a notification was received or findings returned that one's 2017 BMW X5 is part of those with airbag problems, owners can simply bring it back to the dealership so they can fix the modules for free. This is hassle-free as it can get.
Unfortunately, the same situation happened back in Oct. last year according to Auto Blog involving 136,188 in the US and 18,284 in Canada because of improperly cramped wiring for a fuel pump in the gas tank. Involved models were BMW 5 Series, 6 Series, X5, and X6 models. The X5 has had its share of recall even last year.
If one owns an X5 and wants to be entirely sure of its safety, it is best to get in touch with the dealership and schedule for the airbags to be checked. It is better to be safe than sorry in the first place. It may be a little off for such prestigious company to have strings of recalls happening months apart, but it is sure that BMW is doing something about it.
